Housing in Humboldt

What topics do you wish the public understood better?
We want to hear from you.

CERC Housing Group is a cross disciplinary group that has been meeting to discuss housing in Humboldt County. In the past year we have identified the main goals to help accomplish an overall vision of abundant housing in our county. One of the main goals and what we would like to discuss with you is housing education.

You’re invited to join us for the first of what we hope will be many intersectional conversations on housing in Humboldt County. We know we need more housing, we need to ensure the public is educated in order to build public support and adoption for future projects.

This is the first of what we hope will be many intersectional conversations on housing in Humboldt County. We know we need more housing, but first we need to ensure the public is educated about why we need housing, how we can create more housing, and what resources are available to them.

Most importantly, we want to hear from you: what topics are the most important for your industry? How can we help educate the community in order to reduce or eliminate friction and create more public adoption?

Join us on November 17th. This is an invite only meeting via Zoom. Fill out the following form to confirm your participation.

  • Humboldt County is growing, for many different reasons. Simply put, we need more housing for the people who already live here and for new people moving to the area.

You can help inform the intricacies of why we need housing based on your experience and perspective.

  • How can we plan for the future and maintain the core reasons that make this place so special?

You can help inform how we can create more housing and why it is so important that we act as a community.

  • Sometimes, the solution to an issue is simply knowing that it exists. What resources are available for the public, for non-profits, for developers and other key players that do not have enough awareness?

You can help bridge the gap between industries to connect with the people who need what you have and vice versa in addition to identifying the resources which should be better marketed to the public.

  • What issues can you identify for us that would be beneficial to educate the public on?

“We can’t just sit back and wait for community to happen. We need to make it happen, by going out into the world and talking and listening to people. By opening ourselves to others, we can start to experience our interconnectedness and what it means to truly belong.”
